I'm thinking of putting an anemometer out here to see the difference in wind between it and the water tower, and to test the anemometer in icing conditions.

More Katie the dog pictures.
It was cold enough the whole time that I avoided the water. The dogs got in the water right away but then avoided it for the rest of the trip.

Mom and I chained saw some fallen trees and made enough firewood to last the summer ... or hopefully a few fall visits for me.

A view inside the shop. I changed the oil on the diesel generator and replaced the fuel lines. It appears that the fuel pickup is clogged. I have to dip the pickup line into the tank for the engine to run.

The water tower with an anemometer barely visible. It turns out that all of Alyssa and my scrubbing of the tank last spring were for nothing. There's now a whole bunch of alge in the tank. It's pretty disgusting.

A simple 1/4 wave groundplane antenna is all that I'm using for the weather station. You can barely see it.

A view inside the KB0THN-2 weather station. Looks the same as always. I'm actually becoming pretty proud of that. The weather station hasn't had any problems since Alyssa and I came to charge it at New Years.
Also note that the temperature is 38° F. I only brought a sweatshirt with me on the trip. In the future I'm going to always bring my Carhart jacket.

Weather station battery. I use the cooler to insulate the battery and provide some mouse proof storage for the radio microphone, a digital multimeter, and various manuals.

For some reason I always like this photo. It looks like the solar panel is out in the wilderness.
