The laser and table. The table is 4' by 4'. The laser is mounted to an XY table that had a specificed precision of half a thousandth of an inch. The laser is rated at 100 watts.

Phil standing next to another of his ventures, a land yacht. Phil owns windhog.com which builds aluminum land yachts which run on beaches and dry lake beds. Phil's son MIG and TIG welds the chassis. They have a 100 amp MIG welder which the feed aluminium wire with, and a 300 amp TIG welder.

The laser is mounted above and uses a prism to bend the light at a 90 degree angle. The shop vac hose is to remove fumes from cutting the material. There is a lense at the bottom (below the rubber band) that focuses the laser beam.
