On Friday night Matt was working on the FPGA code in the demo room. To test it he was generating AM broadcast band signal using one of the USRP's onboard DACs.

The USRP is expected to be commercially available in 1Q2004. Look at the GNURadio website for more details. Yet another really cool and really complex hardware project.
