TAPR has a number of these 2.4GHz ISM modules that they are looking for information on.

Update: From John N8UR - "We actually have most of the information on the 2.4GHz radio modules; we're trying to come up with a good use for them (one possibility is to sponsor a design contest)."

N7HPR's updated DSP 10 SDR and KB0THN's aprsworld.net demo and kenwood frequency gadget.*

Temperature (and humidity?) sensor for T-238 or Dallas 1-wire weather station. Fan is to keep the digital sensors at atmospheric conditions.*

Victor Kean K1LT's 160 meter SDR. Victor uses a fast analog devices DSP and a custom FPGA / standard PCI board to bring RF into his computer. He has working AM broadcast band reception, but his final project is to phase 160 meter antennas in software.

All together a *very* cool project and simple execution that I really liked. Thanks for showing it to me, Victor!*

More weather sensors.*

A closer view of K1LT's system. You can see the PCI card and the analog devices DSP evaluation module. That's all there is to this - on the hardware side. Victor's software is written in C under Linux and Windows.

Matt Ettus, N2MJI's USRP hardware. 8 channels of very fast D-to-A and A-to-D converters with a USB2.0 interface. The big chip in the middle is an Altera FPGA, and the little device by the USB connector is a Cypress Semiconductor USB2.0 interface. The DACs and ADCs are Analog Devices parts.*

On Friday night Matt was working on the FPGA code in the demo room. To test it he was generating AM broadcast band signal using one of the USRP's onboard DACs.

The USRP is expected to be commercially available in 1Q2004. Look at the GNURadio website for more details. Yet another really cool and really complex hardware project.*

The ARRL HQ (20 miles away) brought a special event station, W1AW, to DCC. Steve Ford, WB8IMY, and other ARRL staffers were at the conference.*

John Ackerman (TAPR President), N8UR, speaks at the Saturday evening banquet. Alex Mendelsohn, AI2Q, was the key note speaker. *
